TRIM reads Health Connect (Android) or Apple Health (iOS) when it opens and when you pull to refresh. If a number looks stale, open the app again. If TRIM has no steps at all, check that it has permission: Settings → Health Connect in TRIM, or your phone's Health settings.
Android stops showing the permission sheet after it has been dismissed a couple of times. Open Health Connect from your phone's settings, find TRIM under App permissions, and grant what you want there.
Yes — every exercise in a session has a Swap button. The alternatives train the same muscle group, show what equipment they need, and mark anything you already did earlier in the session.
